# MOLI — Multi-Operation Lean Intelligence System > Perdix Software, Inc. | Rochester, New York | https://www.perdixsw.com MOLI is a manufacturing operations platform that replaces paper-based job travelers, binders of work instructions, and manual compliance workflows with a networked system of industrial touchscreen kiosks managed through a web-based administrative dashboard. It is built specifically for regulated, multi-shift contract manufacturers and targets operations that must satisfy ISO, FDA, aerospace, automotive, or defense compliance requirements. MOLI is not an ERP, MES, or QMS replacement. It is a digitalization layer that sits alongside existing systems, capturing production floor data, delivering context-aware instructions and alerts to operators, and feeding other systems the structured information they need to be effective. The platform is designed to deploy in 4–6 weeks and does not require replacement of existing software or machines. --- ## Company - **Company:** Perdix Software, Inc. - **Founded:** ~2014–2015 (HTR LaunchPad cohort, 2015) - **CEO / Co-Founder:** Steven Smith - **Headquarters:** Rochester, New York, USA - **Website:** https://www.perdixsw.com - **Trademark:** MOLI™, The MOLI System™, Multi Operation Lean Intelligence™ are trademarks of Perdix Software, Inc. - **Community affiliations:** NextCorps, LifeSciencesNY, RTMA --- ## Infrastructure and Security MOLI is deployed on AWS. Each customer receives their own dedicated deployment — MOLI is not multi-tenant. All credentials, keys, and secrets are scoped per customer. Backups are multi-region. Security and operational resiliency are not afterthoughts; they are baked into how the platform is designed, built, and operated. Supply chain security is treated with the same seriousness: third-party dependencies are reviewed before inclusion and served through private package infrastructure, insulating deployments from several classes of supply chain attack. A built-in SBOM dashboard (see Documentation) lets customers verify exactly what is running in their deployment at any time. --- ## Product Overview MOLI consists of: 1. A **web-based administrative dashboard** for configuration, content authoring, and reporting 2. A network of **touchscreen kiosks** deployed at workcenters, entrances, and other points of activity on the production floor 3. **Digital signage** displays for facility-wide awareness 4. **Integrations** with ERP, MES, metrology, and identity management systems 5. **Implementation Services** — the guided process of configuring and deploying MOLI for a specific customer's environment, processes, and compliance requirements 6. **Training Services** — the development and delivery of a training plan covering all key MOLI features for all key personnel --- ## Features ### Communication #### Alerts Alerts are real-time or scheduled contextual notices with a severity level. Each Alert is linked to content in the system — when that content is viewed, the Alert is displayed. Alerts can also be deployed system-wide. The right people see the right information at the right moment, without anyone having to go looking for it. #### Digital Signage Strategically placed displays throughout the production floor and breakroom show a rotating set of content that keeps your team aware of all the changing factors that affect the work. Available signage includes: - **Alerts** — all active alerts, regardless of where they are active - **Comments** — recent comments system-wide, so conversations don't get lost - **Escalations** — all unresolved escalations in detail, plus a summary of resolved ones - **Forms** — each form and the last time it was filled out - **Headcount** — current timeclock attendance and visitor summary; useful for evacuation planning - **MOLI System Status** — current platform health - **MOLI Transmission Log** — recent emails, phone calls, and SMS messages - **Machines: Each / Overview** — detail or summary view of machine status - **Skill Matrix** — which employees are trained at which levels, at a glance - **Weather** — current conditions and forecast from the National Weather Service - **Workcenters: Each / Overview** — detail or summary view of workcenter status - **Traffic Cameras** — live DOT camera feeds for Rochester (including Eastman Business Park), Buffalo, and Syracuse metro areas - **McQuaid Jesuit HS Seismograph** — Rochester-area seismic activity #### Emergency Alerts Public emergency and life-safety information is delivered plant-wide via FEMA's IPAWS — the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System and the primary public warning system of the United States. Your team gets the same alerts as everyone else, right where they're working. #### Escalations Every MOLI kiosk has a HELP button. When an operator hits it, they describe the issue and re-authenticate. MOLI automatically captures a screenshot of the current kiosk state and a photo of the operator, then routes the escalation to shift supervisors via email, text, voice call, or overhead page — or to everyone at once. As the situation develops, all resolution steps are recorded and all parties are re-notified. If an escalation goes stale, MOLI automatically calls for backup. Everything is logged and exportable, and escalations connect to the Job Pack and Device History Record for robust traceability. #### Integrated Telephony Email, SMS, and voice call support are built in — not bolted on. Used for escalations, visitor arrival notifications, two-factor authentication, and production notifications, with full logging of all messages and calls. Voice support extends to overhead paging systems (if your paging system has a phone extension). A Simple PBX feature is also included: automated time/temperature announcements, general business information, and call routing via menu tree or extension. #### Production Notifications Triggered notifications — email, SMS, voice call, or overhead page — based on job changes, form data values, or machine API data values. Define the thresholds; MOLI watches and calls when something needs attention. --- ### Devices and Peripherals #### Barcodes MOLI generates barcodes automatically for everything in the system, forming a solid physical-to-digital bridge. Scan a MOLI barcode on a printed document and jump directly to the digital version. A built-in barcode printer tool generates system, series, or arbitrary barcodes at any size — with or without a dedicated barcode printer. #### Cameras Production kiosks can be configured to snap photos on training verifications, assessments, and logins/logouts. The timeclock can photograph each clock event. The visitor kiosk photographs visitors at sign-in and optionally at sign-out. Photos can be embedded directly in work instructions or marked up with the Canvas tool before use. #### Environmental Sensors Many manufacturing processes require periodic monitoring of ambient conditions. MOLI interfaces with supported environmental sensors and automatically creates Environmental Sensor Logs — eliminating the clipboard next to the thermometer. #### Moisture Analyzers MOLI interfaces with supported moisture analyzers (including Sartorius® Mark 3 hardware) and automatically records moisture analysis results, organized by job, material, and analyzer. Manual moisture analyses are also supported. No transcription errors; no paper tape. #### Printers Every MOLI view is print-optimized, and printed copies automatically include barcodes that link back to the digital original. Built-in support for Zebra barcode printers (ZPL) and most network-based printers via IPP/PDF. Visitor badge printing is included. #### Serial Port Devices RS-232 and USB serial devices — scales, analyzers, legacy metrology equipment — can be interfaced directly with MOLI, unlocking data that previously lived on paper tape or nowhere at all. #### Stack Lights MOLI communicates with programmable smart stack lights to provide enhanced at-a-glance workcenter status information beyond what the machine itself displays. #### Weighing Devices MOLI interfaces with supported weighing devices (including OHAUS hardware) and automatically creates Weight Logs. Supports pass/fail recording, comments, and historical review by job, material, and device. Manual weighing operations are also supported. --- ### Documentation #### Audit Log Every change to everything is logged — what changed, who changed it, when, where they were, and how it was changed. MOLI's audit log provides verifiable, defensible traceability across the entire system. #### Documents A rich editing interface paired with a photo and video gallery makes authoring controlled and uncontrolled documents straightforward. Documents people will actually want to read. #### Files MOLI's file processing subsystem converts hundreds of file formats — including formats going back decades (WordPerfect documents from 1990 work just as well as something written this morning in Microsoft 365) — to standardized formats with thumbnails, metadata, and full search. Video and audio files are automatically transcoded and subtitled, keeping critical content accessible even in loud environments. #### Forms MOLI knows who you are, where you are, and what time it is — so it only asks for the data itself. Signatures can't be forgotten; timestamps can't be wrong. Forms also collect data automatically from connected devices (scales, moisture analyzers, environmental sensors). Automatic and manual data collection in the same interface. #### Instructions (Electronic Work Instructions / EWI) Role-specific, revision-controlled work instructions delivered to the right person at the right workcenter. Template-driven for consistency. Combines text, photos, and videos. Automatically tracks who viewed which revision. Only the instructions relevant to the logged-in role and current job are shown. #### Photos A centralized photo gallery with robust format support (web formats, legacy formats, professional RAW and PSD formats), EXIF metadata parsing including GPS coordinates, and thumbnail generation. Photos can be attached to anything in the system. #### Safety Data Sheets Upload SDS documents and associate them with specific items or jobs, or make them available in a searchable interface to all personnel. #### Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) A built-in dashboard displays the full SBOM for each deployment: every MOLI package, every third-party dependency, versions, licenses, and release notes for the current and recent versions. Each third-party dependency is reviewed before inclusion and served through private package infrastructure. Supports software validation requirements in regulated environments and provides transparent, verifiable supply chain information. #### Universal Data Export Everything in MOLI can be exported in a wide variety of formats. Your data is not locked in. #### Videos A video library that can be linked to or embedded in work instructions and documentation. Automatic transcoding to streamable formats, thumbnail generation, subtitle support. Assessments can be attached to any video to verify that training content was understood. --- ### Manufacturing and Quality Operations #### Items Digital profiles for everything you handle — raw materials, components, finished goods. Attributes, dimensions, bill of materials relationships, linked work instructions, and attached quality forms. Traceability connections built in. #### Job Transactions Record good parts and scrapped parts (with scrap reason) in real time. First-pass yield calculations update live and correlate across systems. Job transactions sync back to connected ERP systems. #### Jobs A digital production pipeline that automatically routes work to appropriate machines and workcenters, pulling from connected ERP systems to eliminate manual job creation. As team members interact with jobs, MOLI delivers required training, work instructions, and data entry interfaces — dynamically, based on role and context. #### Machines MOLI intelligently routes available jobs to machines based on status and completion data. As employees sign into a job, MOLI delivers required training and assessment, then presents work instructions and data entry interfaces for all job items. Machine API integrations unlock the data already inside your equipment. #### Workcenters Digital representations of your production floor stations. Jobs are routed based on real-time status and capacity. Team members sign in and receive role-specific instructions, required training, and customized data entry interfaces. Everything that happens at a workcenter is captured. --- ### People and Personnel #### Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Full support for industry-standard 2FA methods: authenticator apps (TOTP — Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, and others), email code, SMS code, and voice call code. For kiosk environments, single-factor methods are also supported: employee ID, barcode scan, and RFID keyfob/keycard. A pluggable re-authentication workflow adds an additional layer for sensitive operations like changing job status or crossing out form responses. #### Organizations Structured profiles for every entity in your manufacturing ecosystem — customers, suppliers, contractors, regulatory bodies — connected to items, locations, contacts, and documentation. A dynamic map of your supply chain relationships, not a scattered contact list. #### People Detailed profiles for everyone in your manufacturing ecosystem — employees, contractors, external contacts. Consistent identity across all MOLI functions and integrations, including multi-part names, photos, organizational relationships, and communication and identification preferences. #### Personal API Users can generate JSON-based API keys with granular permission controls for secure integration with external tools and workflows. Each key comes with a downloadable Bruno™ API Collection pre-populated with integration examples specific to that key's permission set. #### Roles MOLI Roles add contextual access controls to traditional permission sets. Multiple roles can be active simultaneously at a single kiosk — operators, inspectors, and supervisors can collaborate without credential shuffling. Visible role accountability without workflow friction. #### Shifts Define your facility's operating schedule and supervisory assignments. MOLI uses this to display the current active shift, route escalations to the right supervisor, and filter production metrics by shift. Works for standard day shifts and complex 24/7 rotations. #### Single Sign-On (SSO) MOLI is both an OIDC consumer and an OIDC provider. It integrates with existing identity providers (Microsoft Entra, Okta, Auth0, KeyCloak, and any OIDC-compliant system), and it can serve as the identity authority for other systems in your environment — extending SSO capabilities to applications that don't have their own identity infrastructure. #### Timeclock Clock in, clock out, start break, end break — via employee ID, barcode, NFC, or magnetic stripe. Optional photography at each event. Employees can review their own timecards. Admin interfaces handle review, approval, and export to ADP, Gusto, Paychex, or any other processor via generic CSV export. Integrates with Headcount digital signage for real-time attendance visibility and evacuation support. Deployable standalone or alongside a Visitor Kiosk or Production Kiosk. #### Visitor Kiosk Sign-in and sign-out with name, company, purpose, and host capture. Configurable to collect any additional required information — citizenship (for ITAR compliance), parking pass number, etc. Supports NDA signature collection and optional photography. Sends notifications to the host or everyone via email, text, voice call, or overhead page. Prints visitor badges with or without photos. Integrates with Headcount digital signage. Deployable standalone or alongside a Timeclock. --- ### Toolbox Accessible from any MOLI kiosk screen at any time. - **Canvas** — Drawing and document markup tool. Add lines, shapes, and text. Upload PDFs or images to annotate before embedding in work instructions. - **Countersign** — Simple identity verification using shared rotating challenge words. All kiosks in the facility show the same six words simultaneously, rotating every minute. - **Message Test Tool** — Validates deliverability of email, SMS, and voice notifications. - **Bonus tools** — Timers, reference utilities, and extras, configurable per location. --- ### Training and Assessment #### Assessments Customizable digital quizzes with multiple question formats, flexible scoring strategies, and configurable passing thresholds. Failed assessments trigger optional supervisor intervention workflows with documented one-on-one retraining and resolution paths. Successful completions generate permanent training records for compliance documentation. Assessments can be attached to any work instruction, document, or video. #### Instructions See Documentation > Instructions above. The same EWI capability serves both the documentation and training functions. #### Skill Matrix / Skill Assessment A visual competency dashboard connecting your team's abilities to production requirements. Supervisors confirm proficiency levels during actual work observation. Real-time capability tracking identifies coverage gaps before they affect quality and provides immediate verification of regulatory skill requirements. Displayed on digital signage for facility-wide visibility. #### Training Transcript A comprehensive, searchable record of all learning activities across the organization — assessment scores, skill validations, and verification completions in one place. Maintained automatically as training occurs. Surfaces immediately during audits. No manual documentation required. #### Training Verification Documents when team members receive critical instructions and captures supervisor certification of competence. Timestamps, electronic signatures, and direct links to the exact instruction revision provided — defensible evidence for ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and other compliance audits. Replaces manual sign-off sheets entirely. --- ### Software and Machine Integrations MOLI integrations share a common framework, keeping them consistent, maintainable, and extensible. #### Arburg ALS (Arburg Injection Molding Presses) Via MQTT and REST API modules.
