MOLI Smart Stacklight
real-time workcenter status across the production floor
A problem nobody can see is a problem nobody can solve.
A machine's built-in andon light tells you whether the machine is running. It doesn't tell you whether anyone is logged in, whether an escalation is open, whether a production alert has fired, or whether the operator just failed a training assessment.
MOLI adds that layer — one tower, one pole, one cable — mirroring and augmenting the machine's native status, or adding status where none currently exists. Every workcenter speaks the same visual language, from injection molding presses to manual assembly stations. Everyone on the floor knows what's happening without asking. Auditors see a documented, standards-compliant system.
MOLI integrates natively with the Patlite LA-6 series programmable stacklight, providing enhanced at-a-glance workcenter status information that goes beyond machine alarms — and works without a machine, too.
How it works
Machine mirroring
On workcenters with a MOLI machine integration, the stacklight replicates the machine's native andon state. Machine red is MOLI red. Machine idle is MOLI idle.
Standalone andon
MOLI drives the stacklight directly from workcenter events — login state, alerts, escalations. Any workcenter, any operation — even stations with no machine.
Central dashboard
All stacklight states across the entire facility are visible in the MOLI Dashboard — supervisors anywhere on the network see what the floor sees.
MOLI Stacklight State Language — IEC 60073 standard
- Off: no operator logged in; workcenter idle
- Green — Running: operator logged in; active production; all clear
- Red — Escalation: HELP pressed; unresolved issue; varies by rule
- Lemon / Amber — Alert: active MOLI Alert; varies by status
- Blue — Training: failed assessment or uncertified training
- Purple — Quality: quality-related event; configurable per workflow
- Mirrored Andon State: on supported machines, the native state is replicated
Patlite LA6-POE
- 21 programmable LED colors; 11 selectable alarm styles, loudness up to 85 dB; 5 tiers
- Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af) or 48 V DC; IP54 (IEC 60529); UL 508, FCC, RoHS, EMC
- 60 mm diameter; HTTP, Modbus TCP/IP, and PNS protocols; mirroring up to 8 replicas per device
- Direct-mount (pole) and stationary (desktop platform) models; aluminum poles in 100, 300, and 800 mm; wall-mount bracket
What you need at each workcenter
- One LA6-5DTNWB-POE (or -DSNWB for stationary) — the tower itself
- Pole or mount accessory — selected based on machine geometry and visibility requirements; consulting included
- One PoE Ethernet cable run — a single cable carries both data and power
- A PoE switch (IEEE 802.3af) in your network infrastructure, or power injectors
Machines supported for mirroring
- Standalone andon mode — any workcenter, any machine, any process
- Arburg injection molding presses — via ALS / MQTT + REST modules
- EOS DMLS 3D printers — via EOSCONNECT
- Haas CNC machines — via MTConnect agent
- Other machines — if your machine has a network API, mirroring may be possible
